Article Submission Guidelines

For Crowsnest Connect Contributors

We love featuring local voices, unique insights, and practical knowledge that inspires our community. If you’re interested in contributing to Crowsnest Connect, here are our submission guidelines to help ensure your article fits our mission and tone.

What We’re Looking For:

Informative. Inspiring. Real.

Your article should educate, enlighten, or uplift. Whether you’re a health practitioner, tradesperson, business owner, artist, or storyteller, your content should provide value to the reader—not just a sales pitch.

Some ideas:

  • Tips and how-to’s from your area of expertise

  • Lessons learned from experience

  • Thoughtful takes on common challenges

  • Personal stories that inspire or connect

What We Avoid:

Please do not submit promotional pieces, sales pitches, or advertorials. Articles should not focus on:

  • Pricing, packages, or booking prompts

  • Your business story or achievements

  • Direct calls to action (e.g., “Call us today!”)

If you’d like to promote your business directly, we’d be happy to discuss our advertising options instead and can add more details in your Social Media posts.

Advertiser Priority:

Our advertisers get first dibs on article spots in each issue. However, we occasionally have room for additional pieces to round out the content, so even if you’re not currently advertising, feel free to submit. If we have space, we may feature your article as a community contribution.

Contributor Recognition:

Each article includes:

  • A headshot of the contributor preferred as it makes it more relatable then a logo

  • A “Written by” credit

  • Your business name or organization

  • A link to your contact info or website

This way, readers know who to turn to when they’re ready to connect!

Formatting Tips:

  • Word Count: 300–400 words (please check in about it)

  • Tone: Friendly, knowledgeable, and community-minded

  • Language: Keep it inspiring, simple, clear, and helpful

  • Your headshot (JPG or PNG)

  • Your business name, phone number, email and website link
